This piece was done with intention of the virgin archetype. There are many things in my life that I am continuously trying to heal and learn from. I chose the virgin archetype for the importance of reminding myself there is still purity, there are ways to reconcile with the mundane. To recycle stored energy caught in trauma and past memories. To allow space for new. Reminding myself I capable of changing meaning within me and I am the one in charge of what I want to hold onto and what I want to release. This piece goes on to tell a story about feminine power and generational trauma and how authenticity is necessary for human interaction and story telling. Each person has a continuous amount of healing done and undone. This painting and this archetype are dedicated to my interaction with self to heal things within myself that I no longer want to carry in the same way so that the next will not be impacted or at least will have more understanding from acknowledgment of traumatic events and memories. The name Taggiasca comes from the type of olive trees that reside on the land where I lived in Italy, and where this painting was created.
